ACLU Statement Condemning Attack Against Former President Trump

NEW YORK – American Civil Liberties Union Executive Director Anthony Romero issued the following statement regarding the shooting of former President Trump:

“Every time someone uses violence to advance a political agenda, democracy withers. The shooting of former President Trump was wrong and un-American. Violence against our political leaders is abhorrent — no matter the underlying political agenda.

One act of violence doesn’t speak for the millions of Americans who oppose former President Trump but wish him no harm.
